In order to directly supply meat products meeting quality standards to Vietnamese customers, CJ Vina Agri officially launched a clean meat retail chain with the Meat Master brand.
In order to ensure both the tastiness and safety of the products, first of all, animal feed must go through a strict quality control process to ensure there is no impurities, drugs boosting animals’ growth, or leanness-enhancing agents. In 2001, CJ Vina Agri expanded to the livestock and poultry feed industry and obtained product quality standard certifications such as HACCP, Global Gap, ISO.
CJ Vina Agri has successfully conducted a research to come up with the processof 180 + 1 days including:
• 180 days: the perfect growing period for the best meat.
• +1 day: The freshest meat is sold within the day of slaughtering.
To farm households, it is very difficult for them to control disease factors, feed quality, breed, and environmental conditions. In contrast, CJ Vina Agri has more than 600 farms across the country equipped with modern equipment and a safe and hygienic environment. The control and management of the health of the pig herds are closely and directly conducted by the experts working in the farms. Any staff in charge of taking care of the herds must go through a thorough disinfection process before entering their work areas.
After a 180-day raising process, pigs will be transported to a qualified slaughterhouse licensed by the Government. The pork meat is processed within 1 day in a cold environment to maintain its perfect freshness, ensuring uniformity in size and weight for each packaged portion. CJ Vina Agri's staff performs strict quality inspections during each production process.
Some people still think that "hot" meat that is sold immediately after a pig is slaughtered is the freshest one. But in fact, the meat should undergo biochemical processing in a low temperature environment for 1-2 days to achieve the best condition. The cold environment will slow the penetration of bacteria, ensuring that the meat is not spoiled. Currently, CJ Vina Agri is raising more than 1 million pigs, 1 million industrial chickens, and 2,000 dairy cows throughout Vietnam.
In order to ensure the quality, safety, and freshness of the meat, pigs must be raised as comprehensively and as healthy as possible. Therefore, experts of CJ Vina Agri have applied the 180-day process according to different growth stages of pigs:
- Stage 1 (day 1~28):: Newborn piglets will be fed with mother's milk to strengthen the immune system.
- Stage 2 (day 29~35): Each farm is equipped with a closed breeding system in an optimal environment including mixed feed management, keeping pigs warm, etc. so that piglets can develop the best.
- Stage 3 (day 36~63): This is the best period for fattening pigs, so high protein feed is added to the system for the comprehensive development of pigs.
- Stage 4 (day 64~180): During this stage, pigs will be fed with high-fiber feed to complete the production process of premium pork.
