Since the beginning of 2021, there have been complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the end of April this year, the outbreak of the pandemic has caused a lot of difficulties and damages to people and production activities of enterprises in the southern region in general as well as of the livestock business of CJ Vina. Agri in particular.
Covid-19 testing are regularly conducted at CJ Vina Agri farms
In charge of managing and operating swine and poultry farms, the livestock business department has faced even more difficulties because the operation cannot be suspended or interrupted for even one day.
Employees in each farm strictly follow the 5K rule at each centralized testing site
To ensure safety in the production activities and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, the employees working in each farm must comply with the "3 on-site" and "centralized accommodations and workplaces" plans. Facing difficulties in the implementation of transportation in compliance with Directive 16 (applied for localities having nearly 100 farms located across communes and districts in different provinces which are nearly 200 km far away from each other), farms must fulfill legal documentation requirements for the 3 on-site plan, conduct periodical Covid-19 testing for employees, and receive inspection teams sent by local authorities to verify the documentation of 3 on-site plan. With the efforts of the HSE team, the advice of the BoDs, and the support of other teams in the Livestock Business Department, the HSE team has completed the certification requirements for the farms that implement the 3 on-site plan to maintain normal production operations.
The staff at each farm are having a quick test for Covid-19 antigens
To comply with the motto "Vaccine is the key in the prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic" and prevent African swine fever (ASF) with its complicated developments across the country, receiving the instructions of the Board of Directors and the support of local authorities, the employees were vaccinated against the Covid-19 right in their farms by the local medical team. This has minimized the risk of ASF cross-contamination which is likely to happen when employees gather at local centralized vaccination points with employees of competitors’ farms like CP, JAPFA Comfeed, etc. Up to now, employees of all the farms in the southern region have received 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, which is a great success, contributing to maintaining production activities while new production plans are being set up to adapt to the developments of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Most of the campers received 2 vaccinations against Covid-19
New F0 cases found in the farms have caused new challenges; however, with the instructions provided by the BODs, the support of the Livestock Business Department, and the efforts of the entire HSE team, we believe that we will meet the requirements for isolation, monitoring, care, and treatment of FO cases in our farms if any to maintain the continuous operation of production activities in the new normal and stabilize business activities of CJ Vina Agri.
